Waters /Micromass Quattro Tandem Quadrupole
HPLC Mass Spectrometer System
LC/MS is a technique which combines the separation capabilities of HPLC, with the detection power of mass spectrometry. Even with the MS instrument , HPLC is used to remove or separate interference from the sample that could impact the ionization process. The ChEMTox lab Micromass Mass spectrometer is coupled to a Water 2695 HPLC system separations module and photodiode array. This system has high sensitivity and enhanced resolution for ion scanning experiments.

Olympus CKX – 41 Inverted Microscope with fluorescence coupled to a digital camera
This system is used in routine applications with cell cultures. The CKX 41 has a fluorescence illuminator for applications that require staining with fluorochromes. The CKX 41 at the ChEMTox lab is also equipped for phase contrast observations.

Modulus Fluorometer/Luminometer
“Modulus is a multifunctional single tube instrument designed to give you the utmost flexibility for measuring fluorescence, luminescence, and absorbance. The Modulus operates as a dedicated fluorometer, a dedicated luminometer, or a combination fluorometer/luminometer. This equipment can be used for: Nucleic Acid quantitation, Protein quantitation, Gene expression, ATP and ROS”. ( Photo from Turner biosystems)
